I follow this Instagram account, not so much for the body art, but for the beautiful depictions of people of age. We don’t really celebrate wrinkles and the huge achievement of getting to high numbers of years. Generally we become invisible and are considered obsolete. I love the big smiles and the lived experience showing on the faces of these beautiful, beautiful people.
These are people who first danced to rock ‘n roll and invented skateboarding, who were at Woodstock, developed the internet and created the world wide web. They were the first ever teenagers and punks, they wore the first miniskirts and bikinis. They paved the way for us, and fought for many of the rights we taken for granted today.
