In most countries around the world, the sales of Coca Cola skyrocket at Christmas time – partly due to clever advertising.
In Sweden, however, sales of Coke drop by at least 50% at Christmas time, due to the popularity of a local drink, Julmust. It looks and tastes a bit like Coca Cola but has a spicy taste to it. It reminds me a teeny bit of Doctor Pepper, but with more spice in it.
Coca Cola suffered such bad sales at Christmas time in Sweden that they tried to make their own version of Julmust. It did not go well…
