I love Longman dictionaries – in my opinion they are the best out there. The one above is my favourite because:
- it has words from every country where English is spoken
- it has slang, idioms, cultural references, events, (useful if you are watching TV, reading a book or newspaper)
- it has graphs, diagrams and photographs.
- has encyclopaedic entries from politics, history, geography, science, the arts and popular culture (below is the page on ‘The Wild West’)
- it comes with DVD
