According to the New York Times, the Danes use a word describing an elephant’s trunk for the @ sign. Poles call it a monkey, Dutch a monkey’s tail. For Czechs, it is a rolled up fish fillet. In Greek, a duckling and in Hungarian a worm. Italian uses the word for snail, Ukrainian a dog. And Taiwanese, a mouse.

Do any of my readers live in countries where there are more inventive names for the @ sign?
